Her funeral is tomorrow and I am taking the afternoon off to go up there. She had a Women’s Choir that I sang in and several of us are going to sing at the funeral.

My dear friend and mentor died Monday night. Ginny was not only my music education professor at college, but she was my dear friend. She taught me everything I know about teaching music to children. We share the same birthday and she would take me out to lunch every year…being a poor college student at the time meant very much to me! We continued to share lunch on our birthday for years. I guess the last time I saw her was a couple of years ago when a friend of mine and I went to see her. Her health was starting to fail then. Mentally she was already gone. She would remember us, but think we were all still in college. She was put in a nursing home and I never got up to see her once that happened. I feel really bad about that. I kept meaning to go…but you know how it is…I was told that she wouldn’t know I had been there, but I still know…

Jacob had his senior voice recital today in Hunstville. David videoed it and will put it on a DVD for us. Hopefully we can put some of it on here? Not sure how to do that, but I did take a few pictures. I was busy keeping the food on the table so I didn’t get very many and I didn’t want to be a distraction while he was singing, so…there are only a few. He did such an amazing job. His voice has matured so much since he has been in college.

Valerie called tonight and said she was at the hospital. Having regular contractions but not dilating very much. The doctor has her walking the halls. I remember doing that! Haven’t heard anything since around 7 pm tonight. Hope all is well. I’ll keep you all informed as info comes my way…
EDIT: The doctor sent her home again. She was still having contractions but they weren’t doing anything. She wants this baby here!

Life is plugging along. Busy at school with getting ready for competition at a choral festival. I love my job…it is so cool to be able to sing and share my passion of music with children.
I am looking forward to summer. It’s been a tough school year, but one where I feel I have grown. I feel more confident about my abilities as a music teacher/choir director.
Jonah is due to make his appearance any day now. Every time the phone rings I think it may be Jason or Valerie saying that he is on his way!
I was released by my doctor for my arm. Thank God for allowing my arm to heal so quickly!

I went to the Orthopedist today and had more x-rays done on my arm. The dr. told me that I had done an amazing job at getting my flexibility back and couldn’t believe how well I could move my arm. They released me from their care and said I didn’t need to come back anymore! Praise God! I didn’t have to do any kind of therapy or anything! I am so blessed!
On another note, I think I either jammed or broke my little toe on my left foot. I let the cat in this morning and rammed my toe right into the corner of the wall as I was walking back to the kitchen table. By the time I left for school, it had turned all black and blue…
Am I a mess or WHAT???

Wow…what a weekend. First we went to see Jacob in Pirates of Penzance. It was amazing and Jacob was so great in the part of the Major General. David and I had no idea that he had such a huge part – we were very proud parents!
Got home around 11:30 and packed and got in bed around 12:30 am. Got up at 3:30 to dress, finish packing and leave for the airport by 5 am. Arrived in Florida around 10:30 and surprised Jason! Valerie’s shower was great…we had so much fun. I took alot of pictures, but many of them came out blurry. I can’t hold the camera still when I take pictures..grrr…I will still post some of them…even if they are blurry you will get the idea! The turn out for the shower was great and they got a ton of wonderful gifts. We had a great visit. I got home around 12:30 am this morning and then had to get up at 5 am to go to work…man, I am very pooped. But it was a wonderful weekend getting to see Jason & Valerie! Here are some pictures:

Memories
So I was looking through some old baby pictures of my boys the other day and came across some letters that my mother in law had written to them after taking them to Disneyworld. Wow…did it bring back memories. Memaw was an incredible person that loved to ‘make memories’ with her kids and grandkids. She had a special way of touching people’s lives and leaving her handprints on them. She had such a passion for sharing Jesus with others. She is now in heaven and doing whatever it is that we do when we leave this world. All I know is that I miss her terribly. She has been gone from this world for 6 years now.
After reading her letters to the boys, I really want to do those special things for my boys and my grandson who is due to arrive very soon.
Thank you Memaw for being such an incredible gift to us and for loving us and making memories with us!

Went back to the orthopedist today. They took new x-rays and said that the arm was healing well. They were impressed that I was able to straighten my arm out and could slowly rotate it. They told me I had to go another 3 weeks with no lifting, pulling, pushing any kind of weight. I was really hoping that they would tell me that I could start doing some weight with the arm. I have to admit that I already am lifting some things…but you can rest assured that my arm tells me when it is too much. I’m just glad that I can eat again with my right hand! So many things that we take for granted!
Izzy seems to be doing much better. I can tell that she has put a little weight back on and her eyes are looking better. Miracles do happen!

The past couple of days Izzy has begun to eat again. We started her out with turkey. The vet that I spoke with said to feed her whatever enticing food we could just to get her to eat. It looks like she has put on a little bit of weight since Sunday. Her gait is still a little wobbly and her eyes don’t look good at all.

My sweet precious kitty, Izzy, has been losing weight for several weeks now. The past week she has not been eating or drinking very much. She is almost 13 years old. We adopted her in August 1995. She was so tiny that she fit in the palm of my hand. She is the most precious little baby. I don’t think she is going to be with us much longer.
