  • Having a nice long weekend is a good thing.  Didn’t have to go to John Cooper on Friday afternoon because they dismissed classes for the Lower School for parent conferences.  So I stayed all day at Mitchell (and actually got to wear jeans and Mitchell t-shirt for the first time this year).  Worked a little on my holiday program for Cooper and then stayed after school to work the 6th grade social.  Feet and legs so sore after one of those…

As soon as I got home, I made a birthday cake for my mom.  Then the Hortons came over and we played Shanghai.  That is always fun.

Spent Saturday over at my mom and Janis’ house.  We celebrated my mom’s 73rd birthday.  Had homemade lasagna with garlic bread and salad.  Janis’ sink got really clogged up and David, Jacob, and Ed worked most of the afternoon trying to fix it.  Still wasn’t unclogged when we left…it was some really nasty stuff…smelled awful too.

Yesterday I finished deciding on my holiday program for Cooper and did my lesson plans for the week.

Today, I made two more cakes…one for Bob and his crew at TWHS Choir and one for our little group at Mitchell to enjoy after lunch tomorrow.  Also doing laundry.  It feels good to be home and doing the mundane…no brain work needed.

This afternoon I am going to see the doctor about my ‘situation’…not sure what to call it…I guess you could say I am showing signs of depression.  I cry all the time and feel so sad over life changes.  I know it’s driving David crazy…we’ll see what the doctor says.

I got word Friday morning that my cousin’s daughter (who was only 29) died Friday morning.  She had scleroderma…it’s a pretty awful, painful disease.  The funeral is today in Corpus Christi.  I just didn’t think we could make it to the funeral.  I really feel bad for not going…Janis, Kristy, Avery, Mom, and Dad all went down there.  Janis called last night and said that Aunt Bobbye and Ben (the grandmother and father) seemed to be holding up pretty well but my cousin is really having a hard time.

  • Hi Cyndie,

I will continue to keep you in my prayers RE your deperssion.  Hard to imagine that you have a problem…but the good news is help is available, and rhere are meds out there a whole lot safer than they used to be.  I’m on one that my doctor prescribed for anxiety and it has helped a lot…and still seeing a Christian counselor who has seen me through a ton of stuff..and now the latest being Dan’s wife going to England next month permanently, and Dan apparently will be going shortly thereafter, meaning I may never see my son again. Time will tell..and also now my 97 year old Mom is in failing health.  I do believe that changes are part of life.  It seems that God never promised us a rose garden…but promised to be with us in the valleys as well as on the mountaintop! But know I’m preaching to the choir here!

Anyhow, know you’re not alone!  Will also keep David in my prayers RE employment.

    Love, Prayers and Hugs,

    Pat
